happy monday! so i found this sweet e-mail yesterday from maggie who owns Whispering Pines. her website offers fantastic rustic pieces for your home and wedding--perfect for this fall and winter season coming up. through her own blog i found this adorable pink wedding from Orchard Cove Photography. i love this preppy but rustic chic wedding--the bride is just beaming the entire time in her Amy Kuschel gown-- gorgeous!
There are so many options out there for stationery that I understand when brides feel option paralysis. I like to go with what's simple, like these adorable cards from Bonnie Marcus & Co.
Perfect for the many, many, MANY thank-you notes you'll be sending post-engagement, post-shower, post-bachelorette party and post-wedding. (And seriously, don't underestimate just exactly how post-wedding you'll need thank-you notes. Our latest gift for our fall 2006 wedding came a couple of months ago). Here are few more of my favorites. . .
Don't forget to join the Association of Bridal Consultants!
The Association of Bridal Consultants is a fantastic organization in many different ways. I currently act as State Coordinator and its my duty to provide networking opportunities and educational opportunities for members. Our corporate website is http://www.bridalassn.com/ and lists international meetings and country wide meetings and educational seminars. For North Carolina we also have our own state website http://www.ncweddingpros.com/ where we list some of our members along with all of the professional events and different bride events we have coming up. I am in the process of updating those two pages and hopefully will have the completed by the end of June.
One of the main portions of membership is the need to have at least 6 hours of education each year in order to renew your membership. If you don't get those 6 hours (it can of course be college credits, other event seminars, etc) the member is not allowed to renew for the current year - until those hours are completed.
The Association does not "certify" wedding planners or other wedding professionals - what we do is have each person earn trademark designations through education and experience. This way someone who has never planned or worked a wedding before cannot call themselves "certified".
We have many different networking opportunities available for you please visit http://www.ncweddingpros.com/ and click on professional events for more information!
Not a wedding planner? You have even better benefits! Try marketing your business on local, national and international levels! Market to other wedding professionals and earn education and experience related trademarked designations! Visit http://www.bridalassn.com/ for more information.
Also feel free to reply back with questions or if you would like more information! Veronica Foster, ABC TM North Carolina State Coordinator

"Learning can be fun for you kids - especially if you sneak it in under the disguise of a circus movie. I was really impressed by how much my 3 year old actually retained from the Alphabet Circus from Rock 'N Learn. After only watching it once, I caught him walking around saying 'Ah, ah, ah, is for apple.' The cute video uses circus images and other objects to show kids what sounds letters make, and they smartly make little rhymes and songs that will stick in their head and yours. My son requests this video frequently, and I feel a little less guilty about letting him watch tv because he is truly learning."—Melissa Touchton NowWhatBaby.blogspot.com
"This video will take your child on an exciting trip to the circus while learning the alphabet. Narrated by Alphabet Al, your child can watch acrobats, meet crazy clowns, dancing dogs and explore the circus world. Children will enjoy this video as they practice naming letters that begin words. Colorful action and fun sounds will hold their attention and keep them engaged in learning."— Dr. Toy 10 Best Audio/Video

Today's doctor-visit was kind of a big deal, as it marked the first time in 35 weeks of pregnancy that I have gained ZERO weight between visits. Zero! That's a pretty extraordinary feat, especially considering pregnancy doesn't encourage the best of eating habits in some, in fact the last thing I ate last night was an enormous piece of pizza at about 10:30 pm.
So needless to say I'm pleased as punch, and to reward myself I've done a little dessert research for you all. Darcy's post from yesterday has reminded me that strawberry season is almost upon us, and what better way to close the meal at a spring or summer wedding then with a delicious strawberry dessert?
It's one of my favorite flavors, and I love how how it gives you a fun element of color to play with. Delish. Recipes and credits below.
