Etsy Find: Nature Favors Bird Seed Favors

Another great Etsy find. We love Etsy and our latest find is no exception. Take a look at the store of Nature Favors. The line of eco-friendly creative favors is incredible.

Like the favor shown above-the Heart Shaped Birdseed Wedding Favors. Aren't they just the cutest? Plus, they're eco-friendly, and hand-made exclusively from all natural ingredients. A loop is made from hemp twine and is formed at the top of each heart, allowing you to display them as a yard decoration in the location of your choice. The price is also easy to swallow too-just $24.95 for 25 or 50 for $49.95. Nature Favors also makes FREE custom tags to go along with the favors.

Their suggestion for a centerpiece: use flower pots to hold tree branches and then hang these bird seed hearts on them for decorations. Place a note at each centerpiece to tell your guests to take one home to feed the birds. Use them to decorate individual place settings, put them in handmade baskets to hand out as favors, or even use as napkin holders.

These would be so perfect for every bridal shower but especially a cute garden party. Of course they would also be great for a wedding. Nature Favors also makes duckie bird seed favors for baby showers and earthbloom favors in a variety of shapes for bridal showers and weddings, too. I could see myself using these as favors for everything-they're that cute!

Cake Smitten

This afternoon I was hit by a massive, arresting, tidal wave of hunger. Lunch and every snack I could get my hands on did nothing. I had no tv handy, so the Food Network was out of the question. I opted instead to go through almost the entire Flickr photostream of my absolute favorite cooking blog, Deb and Alex's Smitten Kitchen. You know, 'cause I have nothing to do right? No weddings coming this weekend or anything like that. But a girl can't work when she's got food on the brain! While I was practically salivating I found this sweet little photo set for Deb's Project Wedding Cake. For a friend's wedding Deb created what looks like a scrumptious cake made up of chocolate and vanilla layers, that somehow involves chocolate ganache, mango curd and swiss buttercream frosting. I love homemade-looking wedding cakes. And I guess it was somewhat work-related. You know, research. Mmmmm.

I know what your thinking, there's no way looking at these gorgeous shots of sumptuous food satisfied my hunger.
But really, you couldn't be more wrong. It's soothing. Pleasing to the senses.

Sigh. To hell with it.

Well-preserved

Whereas some of those more practical-type brides opt to have their gown preserved immediately after their wedding, I'm one who has definitely dilly-dallied quite a bit. Like, its been two and half years, and my wedding gown has not once come off of it's hanger and out of it's plastic covering. Truthfully, I just haven't been sure what I'd like to do with the darn thing, and indecision has led to inaction. So when Nina and Cindy each recently asked me about gown preservation, I realized I had to do some actual research.
First, if you didn't already know, gown preservation refers to the special cleaning and packaging methods that ensure a wedding dress maintains it's beauty, shape and color. When a gown is taken to be preserved, a professional will survey it for the materials used, embellishments, and any mishaps or stains, and then formulate a specialized cleaning procedure unique to your gown. After cleaning, your gown is wrapped and placed in a box for keeping. Let's talk dollar bills y'all. You can expect to pay $400-$800, depending on the gown's materials, embellishments and degree of wear and tear.
So how do you find a preservationist? The Knot recommends you start your search early. Before your wedding, ask former brides, your wedding vendors and gown shops for referrals. One word to the wise, lots of dry cleaners will claim to clean wedding gowns, most are not specialized at gown preservation.

The 19 year old is busy promoting her newest project, which is the film "I Love You Beth Cooper." So, with a wild schedule it's not too shocking that she's keeping things casual on the relationship front. Hayden herself recently told Parade.com that she's single and mingling.

The beautiful young starlett won't have trouble with the whole mingling aspect of the dating world. Let's take a look at some of her most recent beaus. Most of us recall her dating Hero's costar Milo Ventimiglia, but that ended months ago. This summer Hayden was seen getting cozy in the French Riviera with British TV host Steve Jones but the whole long distance thing just didn't pan out. So what do these two ex boyfriends say about what Hayden looks for in a guy? Well Milo and Steve might seem like totally different guys but what they do have in common is the fact that they are both significantly older than Panatierre. Milo is 31 and Steve is 32. So maybe on this next dating go-round Hayden will find someone a bit closer to her own age.

But for right now, she's living the single life to the fullest. She doing the rounds on all the bigtime shows-including Letterman and MTV's new show with "Its on with Alexa Chung." Hayden just wants fans to see past the rumors. She says that she's not pregnant, getting married, or buying a house with anyone. All the rumors are false.
